The Visit

The Visit is a computer-generated animation by Greg Niemeyer, professor of Art, Technology and Culture at the University of California at Berkeley, and Chris Chafe, professor of Music at Stanford University, created for the digital dome at the LodeStar Astronomy Center.

Entirely synthetic, it takes place in a world where creatures have evolved into living musical instruments. Human voice creatures mix with mechanical trumpet druids eventually discovering the mutual advantages of sharing. Both are pretty much stripped of everything else but what they need to get communicate, get around, feed and reproduce. The twenty-seven (27) minute show follows a group of instrument creatures as they discover their counterparts. This is a music video a century from now.

The project is in development. Please check by again or contact ATC with questions.
